Are you planning to visit the Dubai World Cup this year?
I had attended one back in 2014, which was during my first few months in Dazzling Dubai. I remember being completely mesmerized on seeing so many well dressed people at a single venue. Over and above the races, the Dubai World cup serves as an avenue to network with like-minded people – while looking your classy best.
I felt so out of place!
Now that I know better, here’s sharing some news you can use, in case you’re planning on catching the races this season.
BurJuman is currently hosting the 15th International Millinery Exhibition, and it is probably the most stylish event yet. Taking place between 16 and 25 March 2016, the annual pop-up exhibition has become a must-visit on any stylish race-goer’s fashion calendar ahead of the Dubai World Cup on 26 March.
The largest event of its kind in the region, this year the International Millinery Exhibition will feature over 500 hats, headpieces and fascinators from some of the world’s most celebrated milliners alongside regional designers.
Whether you want to make a show-stopping statement at the World Cup Style Stakes or opt for a more subtle accompaniment to your race attire, there is something for every style and budget. Exhibitors at this year’s event include ITAM by King’s Signature, Liza Georgia Millinery, MARILENA ROMEO, Designs by Christiane and Rebekah.
Here’s some of my favorite styles!
One of Nigeria’s hottest hat makers, ITAM by King’s Signature is known for its bold florals, bright colours and bohemian glamour.
Melbourne-based milliner Liza Georgia’s designs blend vintage inspiration from the 40s and 50s with quirky glamour for a one-of-a-kind look.
MARILENA ROMEO has been creating beautifully crafted headwear for over two decades – with a celebrity following, her feminine designs are wearable works of art.
Designs by Christiane returns for her seventh year at the BurJuman International Millinery Exhibition. Her individual designs have been described as an ‘explosive collection of feather hats and headpieces’ and one of her creations was worn by the winner of Dubai World Cup’s ‘Most Elegant Lady’ back in 2012.
Each of Rebekah’s feminine and demure creations has its own personality – each piece is handcrafted by milliner Rebekah Patterson using a mix of luscious felts, straws, silks and gorgeous beads and crystals, which are sure to stand out from the crowd.
Follow the exhibition on BurJuman’s social media pages and post your own pictures of the incredible headwear with the hashtag #hatsatburjuman. Visit facebook.com/BurJuman and @ItsBurJuman on Twitter and Instagram.
Ladies looking to put together a complete World Cup look will also be spoiled for choice when choosing the perfect dresses, accessories and footwear from BurJuman’s fashion-forward portfolio of high street brands and designer stores.
